LOCAL AUTHORS SHOWCASE - JUNE 2023

We were honored to be selected to participate in the Brampton Library's 2023 Local Authors Showcase.
​
It was great to connect with other children's authors and be able to share Ally Loves Pajamas with new families.
MARTY'S AWARDS - MAY 2023
Mississauga Arts Council
In April of this year we received news that I was selected as a finalist for the Marty's Award in the literary arts category!
​
In May the whole family attended this wonderful event to celebrate not only our achievement but to recognize all the other wonderful artists nominated as well. Paul and the kids were so proud to be there with me and that alone made my evening a memorable one. Even though I didn't leave with an award in my hands I still felt like a winner!
This event was a reminder to me of what a wonderful city we live in. A place that truly appreciates and supports artists and their form of art. It was great to be in the company of such amazing talent.

ALLY LOVES PAJAMAS
CHILDREN'S BOOKFEST
AMAZING NEWS!
We Did It!​
Our book launch and bookfest was a success! Families were treated to an interactive experience of our book by visiting five set designs based on pages from our book. They also enjoyed a live performance of Ally Celebrates Pajamas and the Pajamas song. Kids were able to participate in a PJ colouring design contest for a chance to win great prizes and everyone was able to meet other local Ontario authors for great story time sessions.

THE SONG
Written by Debra Krol, and performed by local talent Danny Lwin, our pajamas song had kids up and dancing.
THE PLAY
Written for the book launch, Gloria Freire, who plays Ally, is there to celebrate pajamas. The only problem is she spots some PJ doubters so she enlists the help of her PJ friends in the audience to convince them that pajamas are most definitely worth celebrating.

In a twist of roles, our very own Alyssa (aka, Ally) played the role of a PJ doubter.
STORY TIME SESSIONS
We invited other Ontario authors to showcase their talented works at the BookFest and story time sessions were enjoyed by families.
